Symposia

  • The US Frontiers of Engineering (US FOE) was established in 1995, and is an annual event held in September that brings together 100 of the nation's outstanding engineers (ages 30-45). 2018 Symposium: September 5-7, 2018 in Lexington, Massachusetts
  • The German-American Frontiers of Engineering (GAFOE) was started in 1998, and is held twice every three years with 60 participants (30 from each side).  NAE's  partner is the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. 2017 Symposium: March 31-April 2, 2017 in Evendale, Ohio
  • The Japan-America Frontiers of Engineering (JAFOE) program was started in 2000, and is held twice every three years with 60 participants (30 from each side).  NAE's partner is the Engineering Academy of Japan. 2018 Symposium: June 18-20, 2018 in Tsukuba, Japan
  • The Indo-American FOE (IAFOE) was started in 2008.  The meeting is held every other year with 60 participants (30 from each country). NAE's partner is the Indo-US Science and Technology Forum. 2014 Symposium: May 19-21, 2014 in Arlington, Virginia
  • The China-America Frontiers of Engineering (CAFOE) was started in 2009. The meeting is held every other year with 60 participants (30 from each country). NAE's partner is the Chinese Academy of Engineering 2017 Symposium: June 22-24, 2017 in Shanghai, China
  • The newest of the Frontiers programs, the EU-US Frontiers of Engineering (EU-US FOE), was started in 2010, and is held twice every three years with 60 participants (30 from each side). NAE's partner is the European Council of Applied Sciences and Engineering (Euro-CASE). 2017 Symposium: November 16-18, 2017 in Davis, California
