Key Contacts

The 2008 Japan-America Frontiers of Engineering symposium was held in November in Kobe, Japan.  Topics for the meeting included state-of-the-art knowledge management, breakthrough technologies in brain science, novel materials for industrial applications, and modeling global climate change

Since 2000, JAFOE symposia have been held every year except 2001 in locations alternating between Japan and the United States.  JAFOE aims to bring together outstanding, early-career Japanese and American Engineers from industry, universities, and other research institutions to introduce their areas of engineering research and technical work, thereby facilitating an interdisciplinary transfer of knowledge and methodology that could eventually lead to collaborative networks of engineers from the two countries.
