I develop models and tools to better understand the Earth as a human-dominated planet from a systems perspective, with the goal of informing policies and solutions. Much of my research focuses on how the health of the Earth and its populations are affected by toxic air pollution.

Participating in the EU-US FOE helped me to better understand the ways in which engineers from different disciplines can come together to address major societal challenges. In particular, because FOE brought together engineers from both academia and industry, it was a great opportunity to see the value of working together to bridge knowledge and action.
