Meeting Location

• The closest airports are Cologne Bonn Airport (CGN) (53 minutes train ride, direct train S19) and Düsseldorf Airport (DUS) (66 minutes train ride, direct train RE 1 towards Aachen). See this page for more information on ground transportation.

Accommodations

• A block of single hotel rooms has been reserved for all symposium attendees from March 22-25 at the Dorint Hotel Düren.
• Room charge for all invited participants will be billed directly to the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation for the duration of the symposium (day of arrival: March 22, 2023/ day of departure: March 25, 2023).
• Only for US participants who won’t be able to depart on March 25 due to the flight schedule, AvH will cover expenses for an additional overnight stay until March 26, 2023.
• Nightly room rate including breakfast and tax is €109, about $113. 
• You must provide a credit card or cash deposit for incidentals at check-in.
• Check-in time is 3 pm; check-out is 12 noon. 
• Please call the hotel and email Sherri Hunter if you will miss your check in due to flight delays or any other reason.
• Room charges incurred if lodging dates are changed without sufficient notice will be the responsibility of the participant.
